Software Engineer, .Net Developer - Oslo

Point Carbon is the leading global provider of independent analysis, forecasting, market intelligence and news for the power, gas and carbon emissions markets. The competencies of our staff include international climate policy; mathematical and economic modelling; forecasting methodologies; methods for expert evaluation and energy industries analysis. The company has expanded rapidly in recent years and now has an international team of more than 140 employees. Point Carbon has offices in Oslo (head office), London, Kiev and Washington D.C. We are a dynamic organisation with high professional standards. The carbon emission market is in strong growth – and we are continuously developing new products and improving our existing applications. We are therefore looking to strengthen our IT-team with a new software developer. We are 19 people in the IT department (16 of these are in Oslo). You will join our dataware house team at the Oslo office. MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Programming, testing and design of .NET applications
- Development of graphing and table presentation tool in .NET, using Oracle and the JViews Chart component from ilog.com
- Involvement in our ongoing project “one common web”: Integration and re-design of our current 5 websites into one common web.
- Improvement and maintenance of existing .NET applications
QUALIFICATIONS
- Hold a title in Software Engineering/Master of Science
- 3-5 years relevant experience in software development
- Interest in presentation of quantitative data
- Committed and reliable
- Ability to work independently – and to work in teams!
SKILLS
- Excellent skills in .NET and relational databases, preferably Oracle.
- Experience in using Visual Studio & Developer Express components or similar
- Experience from using Oracle Developer Tools for Visual Studio, Hibernate and Web Services a plus
- Ability to produce robust and maintainable code
- Interest and experience in Agile development methods
- Knowledge of Linux and/or Java a plus
- Fluent in English, Norwegian is not a requirement.
